About Rachel


Hi! I'm Rachel Engebretson - wife, mom of two and creator of  Love & Butter Bakery.


I started baking for friends and family in 2010 with cupcakes, cake pops, candies and chocolates. My hobby quickly became a passion and I debated going to culinary school, but when another career opportunity came along the bakery dream was put on hold.

Fast forward to 2018, I brought cookies to a neighborhood barbecue and quickly had inquiries into where I got them. Once I explained that I was the baker, several friends encouraged (or pushed) me to open a bakery so they could be my first customers. I'm so thankful they did!


Love & Butter Bakery was born in August 2018 and has grown quickly thanks to the support of my customers. I love to work with my customers to create beautiful and delicious cookies for all of life's sweet events. As a one woman show, I have a limited amount I can make each week. I generally book 2+ months in advance. Fill out this form to start designing your sweet treats!

All cookies are made with love and a whole lot of butter in my home kitchen in Hopkins, Minnesota. I operate under Minnesota Cottage Food laws, my cookies are not subject to state inspection. These laws also prohibit me from shipping, all orders must me picked up from my home in Hopkins, Minnesota. I do not deliver.

Sugar cookie ingredients: unsalted butter, flour, powdered sugar, eggs, vanilla bean paste, almond extract, salt.
Royal icing ingredients: powdered sugar, meringue powder, corn syrup, food dye. Allergens: wheat, dairy, eggs, tree nut.
